• article – for most LATEX documents. Does not have chapters, and by default has no title page.
• report – for longer reports and short books. Has chapters, and a title page.
• book – For long books. You’re probably not going to use this. Unless you write a book.
• exam – For Quizzes, Exams, Homework Sets, etc.
